beyond “that thing on the back of your phone”

after PopSockets reached mainstream success, sales stagnated. known only for its basic utility, many customers were unaware of the grip’s swappability for easy customization.

i joined to help rebrand and reposition PopSockets, introducing it to a younger creative audience. by putting interchangeability at the core of our story, we upped repeat purchased and reframed “that thing on the back of your phone” to an ecosystem of self-expression.

in defense
of the drop

we didn’t just change the look and feel. we overhauled the brand’s entire direct-to-consumer merchandising and marketing strategy, remapping the products into themed drops.

indie studio energy
global brand scale

our small, but mighty creative team of 20 art directors, copywriters, editors, producers, animators, designers, and production artists worked to build systems that were implemented globally.

i took lead of copy and post-production workflows. my role consisted of everything from directing shoots to writing briefs, guiding designers and copywriters, reviewing edits, and keeping production on track.

turning products into stories <3

our first limited drop, Bubbly, sold out in 48 hours. heirlooms turned jewelry-inspired designs into statement pieces. skyzone turned an underperforming product line into a cute niche thing.

partnerships
with a pov

we moved away from “slap a logo on it” licensing partners and towards more select intentional collaborations. Disney After Dark showcased PopSockets’ rebellious energy merging with the world of Disney, pushing the boundaries of how each brand crosses paths.

products with dimensionality

multihyphenate-artist glaive became the face of our campaign to launch Dimensionals, a luxury line of PopSockets made to showcase all sides of you. Dimensionals showed proof that what was once an everyday object could be a collectible accessory featured in Rolling Stone.

self-expression
studio

artists noticed and reached out to us. we created a showroom slash studio space in partnership with the Revels Group in LA where musicians could come through, browse + shop our luxury products, make music, and capture content expressing themselves all in the name of PopSockets.

proof is in the PopSocket

we turned that thing on your phone, into a way to show who you are.
